Saying decline will hit your lats more than your chest is one of the dumbest statements I've ever read in the history of the interwebz... period.

While that is actually debatable, you interpreted my post wrong. I meant more than flat bb

Well, damn. Lol.

I do disagree with the incline aspect though.. I would say it easily hits the chest harder than the front deltoids.. there's too many variables for that to be conclusive of course, such as form, angle, etc.. but for me it by far hits chest harder.

Latissimus dorsi don't function in pressing movements, the fibers are on the wrong side of the body for that to happen.

Also, iirc pec major has two innervations by pectoral nerves which would support the idea that one can isolate certain fibers, whether it's split distinctly into upper and lower pectoral divisions and whether those divisions are consistent with all humans I don't know.

I think it's also important to note that overall pec contractions will occur but changing the angle does provide an emphasis on which fibers are getting hit.

also the pectorals have to main functions, adduction of humerus and flexion of glenohumeral joint. upper fibers of pecs will contract to flex shoulder, while lower fibers contract to adduct humerus. again it comes down to whether or not innervation is divided

Elbow extension + shoulder adduction = pressing downwards.
Agonist: Latissimus Dorsi, synergists: Posterior deltoidis, long head of triceps, coracobrachialis, teres major.

You don't only press forward, or upwards..
