My cousin has recently for the last year developed a low platelet count.  I'm suspecting he has ITP, and only recently asked for your advice because his condition is getting worse.  His platelet count is always fluctuating and therefore it's hard to pinpoint exactly why this is happening.  I'm asking for your help in diagnosing his condition and maybe provide a remedy.

Does he have purpura or petechiae?? The little purple or red scars/bruises on the skin? They can look like dots or acne or even a rash.

Secondly, did he get a complete blood analysis from a hematologist?? If not, he needs to....immediately.

If he does have ITP and it's chronic/severe, he will need to be prescribed steroids and TRA's. Surgery may even be needed and/or transfusions.

The first step would be going to the right doctor and going from there.

Raynor, how should I go about this:

My current pics are on post #39 here http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=61053330&f=60&o=30
Post #1 shows where I was in November last year. Nothing really impressive but I think when I cut for the summer things will look relatively decent (hopefully progress will be good).

My stats are I'm 181 pounds, 5'10 (currently).

I'm currently doing a 10x10 (modified to be a little more like regular lifting). I have a time I want to cut for (mid-late July), since it's summer vacation for a couple weeks. Should I immediately start doing a 5x5 once this week is over for 2 months, then do a 10x10 for a month (taking me into late June), then cut coming into July?

I'm not sure how I should go about this. After my trip is over I want to just get back to training and not worry about appearance so much as strength and muscle gains for a while.

Immediately following the cut you should go into 5x5 or 3x5 for around 4-6 months for optimal mass gains. You can go back to 10x10 after that if you desire. Cutting should happen once a year around the same time to keep BF levels below the 15-16% mark

Thanks. :)

Just to clarify, do you think it should be beneficial to go with the 5x5 up until I cut, then cut, then go back to the 5x5 for 4-6 months?

I'm looking for optimal aesthetics for the summer (just 2-3 weeks of it), and then afterward I won't mind fat gain.

If you want optimal asthetics, do hypertrophy now until the cut, then cut, then go to 5x5 or 3x5.

I just asked him and he said his current platelet count is at 69 (no idea what the units are in). I don't think his condition is that serious, so I doubt he has either purpura nor petechiae. He does develop small red spots when his count gets low but nothing as serious as purpura or petachiae. He did get a complete blood analysis. He currently is being described steroids for his condition. (Prednisone, 5mg per tablet)

The steroids will reduce the effects. Usually mild ITP clears up on its own around 6 months or so. If at any point it gets worse, he will need to go back to his doctor and receive TRA's and other advanced options.
