sorry for all the questions, just trying to fully understand the issue.
Compounds heavily neglect smaller muscle groups.
Isolations heavily neglect supporting muscle groups.
No matter what you do, you will turn out looking dispropotionate. If your goal is simply to be able to perform a deadlift, or move a heavy weight from the floor to an overhead position....compounds only are fine.
If you prefer to simply inflate key muscle groups and let the rest of your body look like pudding, then stick to isolation only.
If you want the most bang for the buck you have to overlap. That means you have to do EVERYTHING. Compounds for pure strength and mass, isolations for lagging smaller muscle groups that need additional help....or to improve aesthetics of larger parts.
