So I was wondering if you have any experience of olympic lifting? The clean (both power- and squatclean) mostly.

Yes. What can I help you with?

i'm currently 6'0 150 pounds, and I want to gain more muscle and eat less shitty food.
I've worked out on and off over the years and have put on muscle, I have access to 3 gyms (school and apartment complex), and also 50 pound barbells at home.
any tips on what I should start out doing and eating?

Hey SKC, quick question for ya, Is muscle confusion a real thing? If you switch things up every one in awhile will it actually help with results?

Ive always heard it does help, but heard some random bros talking about how its BS.

figured id ask the man himself, since i take ur word as law more or less.

Thanks

Hey there.

The answer is both yes and no.

Your body does in fact become resistant to certain exercises as well as certain training methods and over time you do see a diminished effect. However actually confusing your muscles is a myth. Well maybe not a myth, but a bad way of explaining the body having increased tolerance and resistance to certain muscle building activities.

The solution:

I recommend alternating 5x5 or 3x5 strength training with hypertrophy for most of the year, and then the finale being a cutting cycle.

edit:

A sample would be:

5 months 5x5
4 months hypertrophy
3 months cutting

Why do you suggest having fruit at other times during the day other than postworkout? Doesn't fruit (berries) contain sugar and won't that help increase bodyfat?

Also, how much bcaas are necessary for fasted cardio and how long before should I consume them?

I have a fit test coming up in a month to decide who makes the A team and the B team. Ofc I would be aiming for the A team. The test comprises of:

1) 1 minute, max number of push ups
2) 1 minute, max number of sit ups
3) Max rep FOM pull ups
4) Timed 500 m Ergometer row

do you have something for me to dramatically boost my numbers in these tests?

Should I switch to strength training for a month? (currently doing hypertrophy)

Iso your expertise.

Hey ray.

All that about heating up food etc in microwave and losing its nutrients....
Not that I'm going I stop heating up my food either way lol

Sure you seen em. The brand name. Pyrex
I collect Pyrex Tupperware
And I heat my meals up for 1 minute in the microwave in the bowl
The bowl is glass and has a sealed lid on top

Would this stil be losing the nutrients in the food?

Well two things.
1) How much will shoes help in the clean and in snatches? I've been thinking on buying a pair of Adistar for a while now.
2) Got any tips on how to improve the clean? I jerk way more then clean atm (I frontsquat atleast 20kg more then I clean and deadlift 2x more then I clean)

Sup raynor, interesting question here

you know body clocks? And how you wake up at a certain time?
Is there such thing as go to sleep body clocks?

It seems, ever since I started full time work, I get redic tired every day, without fail almost on the dot of 2pm. Which is a little bit after lunch break.

I don't drink coffee and I work in an office... Should I just suck it up and drink? I get 7-8 hours a night..
