Yes I know its really gross!

We are the same weight (approx)
I did not train properly for 6 months (started back to do legs correctly, shoulder and wrist fucked :( )
I got 1 inch on you

Start here by being honest, unless you've got some monster legs, you are lighter than 155 lbs, post in the actual section, SKCRaynor won't answer any questions soon/ perhaps never. Plus, I believe you did not deserve an answer if you did not take any time to browse through the pages looking for answers that have already been given

Hi, I was meaning to ask before
is there a difference between doing normal squats and squats on a smith machine?

Yes, very much so.

Smith machine usually puts you in a position of leaning back against the bar partly. Doing free weights works the stabilizers (as always said), and requires some (very) basic coordination.

Do free weights.

Edit: Smith machines do have their uses though, but they're best used for very specific lifts, or re-hab.

you'd probably be able to lift more, but normal squats incorporate some stabilizer muscles that you'd otherwise be not working with smith squats.

do 'em both IMOOOOOOOOOO.
