PWO sugar is good, but not essential unless your glycogen levels are completely drained.
If you are on a normal mass building routine, just some good carbs will be fine. if you're training on the very high end level and glycogen is definitely depleted...you can benefit from approx 30-35g glucose/fructose PWO. Basically a gatorade.
