Yes, sorry to hear that even though I am new to this part of the forums. I have a question though for people who are answering questions in SKC's behalf. I am 18, 5' 5" @ 153 +- 2lbs. You are not going to want to exceed more calories than you burn/day.
What type of cardio are you doing as of now?
And yes eating 5-6 meals a day is the best, because of the boost in metablism.
And what is your current workout plan?
