Alright so I know how to workout but I am completely incompetent for diets.

I'm 309 pounds, and I need a rough draft of a diet. Taking into account that i've lowered training intensity lately to about 45 minutes-1h workout 5 times a week.

I'm iso leaning down to 290 or so for this summer.

thanks!

is it impossible to bulk if you do a lot of cardio, such as basketball five days a week for about two straight hours each day?

Hey,

My question this time is a little different than the other ones ive asked here. So i was thinking about starting to run again, about 5 KM probably, and try to run that faster every time.
So if i would be running a lot, would that have any influence on my results from gym? I thought someone once told me it is not good to run long distances and train at a gym for training your muscles at the same time.

Do you know if it will make any difference?

hey there....I have been VERY busy lately with exams this coming week - I am unable to take the time to write out any custom plans for right now. I would advise using the search feature in this thread...there are literally already DOZENS of threads posted with this exact same question asked along with plenty of sample diets. Find a good one (or several) and pm them over to me and I'll let you know if it's appropriate for you.

I am going to answer both of you in one single reply...because these are essentially the same questions.

Running or Basketball (or ANY cardio for that matter) is fine to do when bulking. The problem is - you are burning a TON of calories during this exercise and you will be destroying muscle unless you follow a few very important rules of how to bulk when doing intense cardio.

1. Take BCAA's before and after ALL cardio sessions (preferably 4g before, and 4g after because it would be difficult to take it during)

2. Eat approximately 80g complex carbs and 30g simple carbs approximately 30 minutes before doing this exercise (usually a full sized sweet potato, and a bottle of gatorade works perfectly...alternatively, 2 cups of oatmeal, or 1/4 lb pasta, or 4 slices of whole wheat bread all work fine as well for the complex carb - for the simple carb you can also try 2 slices white bread w/ jelly, or grape juice)

3. EAT IMMEDIATLEY AFTER CARDIO! You need a FULL meal...preferably at least another 50g carbs, 50g protein (adjust to fit your bodyweight)

If you follow these instructions, you will be fine. If you still see muscle loss, increase your overall food intakes - mostly the carbohydrates.

to be honest the system is just a matter of cardio paced strength training along with specific diet and other exercises - it WILL work (for destroying fat and building a little muscle) no question about that...but if cost is an option, might not be the way to go...I'm not sure how much it costs...but I will say this - simple diet and exercise is always the cheapest and most effective method.

no.

Pullups work the back, lats, and biceps (in that order) - although they are very important for building overall strength and a good back, they are not to be used as a daily exercise for full body workouts. You will need to perform MANY exercises to accomplish full body training.

I dont know if you purposely skipped my question or you just need more time to answer it?
