So what benefits are you reaping by benching without a shirt? I'll try to leave the leggings out of this.

It's hot out + back sweat = glued to the bench and no sliding at all.

Tights are anabolic.

Was in 1200 club in 11th grade and can do 1000 club in two lifts. Squat 550, dead lift 600, which to be honest isn't shit for most 250 lbs football players. However after about 315 on all lifts I can confirm there is diminishing returns for athleticism. Guys who bench 250 aren't much less athletic than guys who bench 405. Guys who squat 600 can't run faster than guys who squat 315. So just keep in mind numbers really don't mean you can actually do anything different... Most guys who can dunk a basketball can't squat 225 and in all my life I've only seen 2 people including myself that can dunk doing over 405 lbs, and that's a very rare body type.

I would say big numbers on power clean are a lot more indicative of ability.

So TL:DR: do you wanna see big numbers for ego boost? Not trying to tell you what to do but if I was in your position I would focus on hypertrophy, unless you're a wrestler/powerlifter for competition or athlete of some type. Aesthetics get you a lot further than powerlifting these days, were not cavemen.

Of tights being anabolic? That was a joke... They're kinda like cheap knee sleeves though, I get significantly less knee discomfort during squats and deads

It's actually pretty sweet, if I get knee sleeves I'll just train in my underwear 24/7 the mechanics always come over and compliment us, really nice Ukrainian guys.

It's a hobby, I can't stand bodybuilding style reps and all the isolations.

I do conditioning work and gpp to stay well rounded.

Breaking pr's is literally the best feeling in the world. Nothing even comes close, would rather smash prs than sloots

But you're not smashing prs or sloots., you're smashing your body. The high volume is what you need to grease the grove for the ability to do these things, especially since you're ecto with high hopes. You at least need to focus on form, if you ever want to squat 405 or dead 500. Your genetics are not set for lots of mass, and probably made more a flight than fight kinda human. With that knowledge, you should especially focus on getting there the right way and not just jumping under a bar and praying. Praying might also help though.
