People in here really have the goal physique of not even lifting? All of you should just cut then, you're wasting time.
I played with and against several now D1 athletes, mostly football that I shit on.. not only in terms of position but 40 yd dash times, jumping, etc.
And you think you've maintained that competitive edge? That's what separates the elite from you and me. They do it every single day, live it, breathe it. I used to run 6.4 60 yd dashes, 4.4 40's, switch hit successfully against draftees and now D1 stars, and I always owned my old teammate who made his debut for the brewers a few months ago. but I certainly couldn't even come close to that now. I do however have a stick up my ass about people who say they're elite athletes and didn't play 24/7 365 year and sacrifice a lot of things to do so. Maybe you can call yourself an elite weight lifter/bodybuilder one day.
I dunno, a lot of people say they are competitive and elite athletes but unless you've been and continue doing it the fact of the matter is you aren't (unless of course you're a retired professional/star.. you can hold that title all you want).
