When doing your 5x5 strength workout for arms my biceps never seem to be sore and im doing good weight for it, im doing it right, as in it's hard and i get a little pump, but it doesn't last long and im never sore.

Is there something i can do about this?

Anyways, I've been trying to strive for at least one hour of cardio a day.
(due to being in College/Part-Time/Social Life I maybe do 4 hours a week. This does differ though, 4+ a week but usually no less.)
Is one hour of cardio on a bike enough to maintain / build a better metabolism?
I would say depending if I ride with Madeleine (the girl below) we do anywhere from 10mph-15mph.

Also I may or may not be put on adderall or a form of it to allow me to do papers and what not.
Such as today I spent 9 straight hours writing a seven page psychology paper, watched a documentary with a female in my Sociology class.
Wrote a paper on that documentary and read two, one hundred page psychology papers.
And gave Seth's therapy to a female friend for two and half hours.
(I'm a Psych. Major with three minors in English, Business and Sociology.)

As for the Adderall thing, I know it will cause a loss of appetite.
As given the photos above would losing more weight be in benefit to help slim down key areas?
While ofc. doing cardio and weight lifting. I would eat Breakfast/Lunch but doubtfully no Dinner for sure.

Sounds like you have stubborn biceps.

You need to do several things:

1. start slowing down the reps to a ridiculously slow speed. I'm talking about as slow as physically possible and squeeze the biceps the entire time.
2. start using an arm-blaster for barbell curls (google this item)
3. add more volume, by this I mean add additional exercises, sets, and reps for biceps
4. Adjust the angles of your wrist so that you use less forearm and more bicep (your palms should be facing the ceiling at the top of the rep, not facing your body)

Remember, the slower and more focused you go, the more it will tear the muscle fibers and force growth

I think you are looking at things in a very skewed light.

First of all, cardio is never enough to maintain proper metabolism or overall health. You need to be strength training at least some days in order to maintain proper musculature and metabolism.

I recommend 1 hour of strength training a day, 4 days a week (MINIMUM) with at least 30 mins of cardio 4 days a week as well.

As far as adderall goes, you need to think about this. Do you really want to take amphetamines to help you concentrate? You want to take legally prescribed oral meth (this is basically what it is) so you can study more? You are willing to put your body under the excess amount of stress (especially your heart and liver) that comes along with such medications?

I think you really need to rethink this. If you are spending 9 straight hours doing ANYTHING there is a severe issue in your life. You are either taking on way too much at school, or you are simply waiting until the last minute to do everything. You need to rethink all of this and TRY to manage your time better, take on less at school, or simply rearrange things to suit you better.

The human body is not meant to spend 9 hours straight studying...it goes against our biology.

I do NOT recommend ADHD medications to anyone, and this is coming to a senior medical school student.

hello!

just a question related to "starting strength"

i feel im a bit too experienced for doing only 1x5 set of deads as suggested by the program, but i'd like to follow routine similar to starting strength cause need more strength
i.e. focus on compounds: squat, dead, bench, bent-over row, ohp/military, chin-ups (maybe some additional set of an isolated exercise)

preferably some a/b split, prefer full-bodyish
i used to do 4x6 sets of deads and get very intensive doms

thanks in advance

I cannot currently weight lift which is why I asked about only doing mainly cardio.
But yes, I would usually do 4-6 days of lifting depending on maxing/reps.
As for the Adderall and other dextroamphetamine and amphetamine medications, I do understand the affects it has as a Psych. Major.
However, I do not take them seven days a week; at the most two times a week.
But I didn't spend 9 straight hours writing the Psych. paper but homework assignments for four classes I'm currently taking. (which was spread into moving from the 1st to the 4th floor in the library.)
Unfortunately, the only place I can do work is @University but my time management does need work.
Regardless of the affects, what would my diet look like if I was to take dextroamphetamine and amphetamine medication for a day?
Such as, what key items should I be looking at; such as protein shakes, ect. to help maintain.
Anyways, thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it.
