Hey bro, it's been a long time since I've asked you a question and I got a big concern...
I've been donating plasma for a few months now (started in january of this year, took a break during 4 months and started again this semester of school) and today they told me that I had an elevated ALT at 132. Now up to this test that they did, which was exactly 1 week ago from today, everything had been normal and I had had no problems. So firstly what could be the cause for the increase of this enzyme, what can I do, and lastly, should I be really worried?
All they told me is that they did another test on the second time I donated last week and that if the number is high again, and then a 3rd time, then I can't donate plasma for another 30 days. Then if it's still elevated a fourth time then it could be a serious disease which would mean that I can't donate ever again.
Honestly my diet hasn't been that great, but it's not bad either... I drink plenty of water (1 1/2 -2 gallons a day), only eat chicken breasts (i treat myself to steaks or pork when I can afford it), organic free range eggs, tons of salad (mainly lettuce) and the only carbs I usually get aside from whole wheat whole grain organic bread are lentils (these would also be my only source of fiber).
I've tried to change up in different veggies and other foods, but I can't afford anything else from what I've been eating... otherwise I wouldn't be donating blood :/
I just hope that I don't have some type of liver disease, and that the elevated ATL was caused by stress or some shit so it's no big deal. Please tell me what to do
