there are NONE.

there was a very bad misconception for a long time that it increased your test production - this was untrue.

Here is a breakdown

Ejaculation for bodybuilding

Pros::

increases testosterone immediately after ejaculation
calms and relaxes the body after a workout or before bed
balances hormone levels
greatly decreases the chance of prostate cancer


Cons::

Can make you tired and less likely to focus (usually only 6-8 hours before working out)




As you can see, the pros greatly outweigh the cons.

If you are a professional boxer/fighter, it would be advised to avoid ejaculation for approximately 5-7 days to increase focus, endurance, and anger.

i don't think it increases test production but I think (in my un-needed opinion) that it might have something to do with test levels? could that be possible?

especially with the focus and endurance aspects, Mike tyson, though he has mental issues - claims to have gone several years without ejaculation during his boxing championship heyday.
I dont think I need to say much to remind you how dominant he was during that time.

I feel as if when I ejac. before some sort of physical activity that I simply don't have that... fiery edge, that... dominance over whatever i was doing.. and that feeling had a cumulative (no pun intended,lol) effect as time went on.

Lol I basically have $500 to dish out to finish up my home gym and I'm trying to figure out where to best allocate that final bit of cash (hence the previous question about the sled).

Think it's a waste of money if I already am fine with doing back squats? I'm about 75% sure it's not worth buying... but if it were to be a replacement for a hack squat machine, maybe it would be useful?

Scientific studies show an increased production of test immediately post ejaculation for a release time of approximately 15-45 minutes. This increase eventually levels off and returns to normal. The reason you feel immediate inhibition post ejaculation is because your entire endocrine system has been conditioned to relax to induce recovery post ejaculation. This doesn't have to do directly with testosterone.

In the event of mike tyson, we are talking about a single individual who quite clearly would not serve as a proper test subject. There are many things at work with him including: Psychosis, placebo effect, actual effect of increased anger/hostility, other mental conditions, and quite possibly even unknown physical conditions. I would never use him as an example, and also his word means nothing as he has been known to lie in the past about his training. Dominant in his prime? Yes. Genetic freak? Yes. Psychotic who should never serve as a baseline for anything? Yes.

The increased anger/endurance/focus that comes with lack of ejaculation is because of a combination of things. The first being that your test levels will continuously increase at a very small amount of day until they hit a peak in which levels them off and then starts counter-producing estrogen. Your sperm production increases and the testes become swollen. The need to ejaculate is SURVIVAL based in the body because after all as humans our goal to survival is procreation. This survival mechanism is what increases the focus/anger/endurance. There has never been an accurate study done that could isolate precisely what causes this response - it has been trumped up to the endocrine system, survival mechanism, and genetics that we do not yet understand fully.

HOWEVER - for complete mental sanity, more STEADY gains, less emotional problems, and certainly MUCH better physical health (including reduced risk of prostate cancer), ejaculation is absolutely key. I am not saying ejaculate 15 times a day, but at least 1-2 times a week for young healthy males.

yeah that particular piece of equipment is not necessary, you are getting more than enough with traditional squats.

Did you purchase a smith machine?

I purchased a squatting rack, high/low pulley, all the freeweights necessary, etc. The list goes on a bit.

My only two things that I'd consider "machines" are my high/low pulley, and my leg extension/curl attachment for my bench. I have a bit of cash to waste away and was considering this as a replacement for hack squats, since I don't have room for a hack squat machine (a smith machine would be larger so wouldn't have room for that either).

Just curious about what to do :)

I would probably not buy that product. If you really want to do hack squats, keep looking - that particular machine is certainly not what you need. Quite frankly it looks like it would not recreate a PROPER hack squat.

Have you considered a pec deck, tbar, trap bar, or power rack? all of those are excellent to have for a home gym

I considered a pec dec because that's honestly my favorite machine exercise, but I can't find any to buy around here, and I really do only have space for just one more machine. I have a power cage / squat rack (however you want to call it) already. I'll look into a trap bar.

It's just this final bit of cash I want to sink in just for the sake of finishing things up (making it all nice). It's already a complete gym enough to do absolutely everything anyway, but I want to just add on that little extra to make it more fun.
