speaking of nutrition...i downloaded this calorie counter called cron-o-meter yesterday just to see what my calorie intake is roughly (because i hadn't really been paying attention) and have tracked my past 2 days of foods...

http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4229/2dayd.jpg

i added all of day 1 at the end of day 1 and tracked day 2 as i went through it

is this a decent diet (mainly day 2, i know day 1 has too much fat) for someone my size (5'6 126 atm)...i have gained 9 pounds in about 11 weeks

trying to get as close as i can to 40/40/20 but that seems like too much protein for me..so idk? any advice would help

Don't even think of having too much protein....you can take in as much protein as you need without any issues.

What are you afraid of in having more protein?

Hey raynor!

There's been a bit of a debate on these forums in the past, and plenty on google.

I was wondering what your take is on training when sick / getting sick

I'm just talking about the common flu... Symptoms being throat feels like razor blades, nose blocked, etc

To train or not to train?

NEVER under any circumstances train when sick for the following reasons:

1. When you are sick, your body requires as much energy as possible to fight off the cold/flu. Working out depletes much needed energy and forces your body to spend additional resources on repair.
2. Training when sick also prevents efficient muscle rebuilding and recovery because of the extra resources the body allocates to fighting infection.
3. It is horrible etiquette to train when sick because of spreading your germs all over the gym and leading a large risk of getting everyone else sick around you. Do unto others - do not be selfish.

Would training my compounds in power and doing the rest of the training in mass be smart?

Also, what dose of calcium and magnesium would you recommend for someone on a no carb det

well most people say the max protein you should need in grams is 1xlean body weight in pounds or 2x body weight in kg (pretty much the same thing)

ive also seen people say as much as 1.5x your body weight in pounds in grams of protein but im above all those numbers so i am afraid it is just being turned to waste..

Not necessarily - I would advise that you stick to only mass/volume training when on cutting - leave the power training for when you are on a full bulking cycle.

As far as calcium and magnesium goes - the good rule of thumb is to get the following minerals:

1x sodium
2x potassium
1x magnesium
1x calcium

In other words

2,000 mg sodium
4,000 mg potassium
2,000 mg magnesium
2,000 mg calcium

In order to effectively build muscle you need AT LEAST 1.5g protein / lb bodyweight.

However, taking in excess fats or carbs to compensate for the required additional calories is not the best selection.

You can take in 2-2.5 g protein / lb bodyweight and can even see better results.

You don't need to worry about excess protein until you are in the 3g / lb range.

ZMA is excellent - try NOW! ZMA 3 caps before bed

Orange Triad is an outstanding multi + joint support - take 3x pills 2x a day with meals

Lastly...I stick to optimum nutrition pro complex natural right now - I absolutely love it.

Creatine is SciFit Kre Alkalyn 1500 caps

Depends on the size of the waffles - however usually any more than 20-25 g of carbs will throw a person out of ketosis.

It also depends on the type of carbs, simple carbs will eliminate ketosis quicker than complex.

Lastly, it depends on the persons size and how deep into ketosis they are - as well as how sensitive they are to carbs in general.

Keto strips are the only way to really know.
