How do you decide what numbers to use on desdlifts ? If I'm deadlifting 350 and trying to get to 500 how would I go about figuring out my numbers to increase over time

Well that depends. When I was deadlifting 350 I was still making rapid progress week over week so programming would be different for someone making fast liner progress vs someone who has stalled.

I just started I got a hex bar about 6 weeks ago and did 205/225 one workout then 250/275 next workout then 300 lbs for I think 6 sets of 4

Then I got a regular barbell and did first workout 235x 12 or so

Then next workout 285 for 7 but was resting 15-20 seconds in between reps

Thats where I'm at

So if you're linearly progressing that fast just do the same thing you did last week only with 5-10 more pounds until you start to finally hit a road block.

What do you think about Heavy db rows?

Are cheat rows worthless? Say you can row 100s strict, but 130s cheating. Are you actually getting anything with the 130s, considering you're cheating

Cheat rowing is fine , just understand the context for using it. Generally speaking, cheat rowing is leveraged to force the upper back to get a deeper stretch or exposure to loads to increase strength to make upper back stronger in the deadlift or do heavier loads and control the eccentric.

Many people use cheat rows , db or bb variants.
