You want 1-1.5G protein per lb of lean muscle mass, not total weight. If you’re 250lbs and 20% body fat, you wouldn’t eat 250g-375g protein.

I have never seen lean body mass used once in an article. Given the only way to get your true lean body mass is to go for a hydrostatic weighing and no one does that, it makes no sense.

So you’re telling me a 300lb morbidly obese man who works out intensely requires 450-600grams protein?

Lol’d IRL.

Makes 100% sense

I’ll edit this and agree with you, every article does say per lb of body weight, but that’s inaccurate.

Back story : 5 years ago, I peaked at 210 lbs 8% bf 6ft. Decided to do a cycle with lack of information, cycle went well, PCT went horribly. Got depressed, estrogen wasn't controlled, quit lifting.

fast forward 5 years of not lifting. 170lbs lost 90% of my gains.

I am wanting to get back into working out but don't have access to a gym yet.

Trying to determine whether it would be worth to do calisthenics until I can get into the gym.
Reason I haven't started calisthenics is because I don't want to affect my noob gains.

Reason for post.
If I start with body weight shit for a 6 months, will that affect my noob gains/muscle memory?
or would it be more efficient to just wait until I can get into a gym and shock the nervous system with weights/proper diet?

What are your thoughts.
I haven't started yet because of the latter.

Bro join a low budget gym something like planet fitness good start for them gains.
