Sounds like a good ide? What’s your plan? Intervals 2 times a week with one long distance day or the Japanese style 20km five days? Or simple as just go for the feeling?

no idea. my cousin has done the ironman twice and several marathons, he's gonna make my training and i'll just follow that lol

Is it your first marathon?

With your first marathon the goal should be just to finish... 3:15-3:30 is a VERY fast time for the numbers you gave. (3:30 is 8 min miles, 3:15 is sub 7:30min miles) You will want to start running a lot more in order to ultimately get there.

When you do toe the line on marathon day you should go out at an ultra conservative pace... Hold this easy pace for the first 10 miles and gradually pick up the pace from there so that you can negative split the race... If you try to maintain an even pace throughout or if you go out too fast you could be in for a world of hurt in the later portions of the race. Miles 18-26.2 are no joke, the wall is real.
