legs were SO sore today, been working them every day for the last week or two. Today I ran a half mile in 4 minutes and then started doing the frankenstein walk, it's my calves, not my quads/hams. Taking a day off and rolling the old legs out, then back at it

No exercise today. About 3 miles of bike riding to the nearest beach / work.

I only work 1 job tomorrow and that starts at 3 pm EST, going to try and put my legs to the test and hopefully get in the water!

not sure how tf an 8:30 pace is top 25% but I'll take it lmao!!

quick 1.5m run as a big lap that finished at the beach, then ran .5 miles back at like a 9 min pace

My legs are still really sore, I need to take a couple days off but I don't have time to

I'm thinking I need to swim more and run / bike less to let my calves regen but allowing to still train

Who tf runs 1.5m lol
Also, you're talking about recovery...do you stretch every day? Do you also use a muscle roller?

Stretch every day as well.
As someone who has put in almost 700KM year to date, trust me when I say it makes a huge difference in recovery.

Priority: Stretch every day.
Muscle roller every 1-3 days/whenever you feel you need it.

I'm brain washed from sports that you should never stretch cold and always stretch after a light jog / warm up.

Does this reign true? or if I'm sitting at my desk for 2 hours, it's okay to get up a stretch

/e spelling error

Not before exercise. Afterwards is optimal.

Yes, it's okay to stretch if you are inactive and not about to start doing some exercise.

Sometimes when I am increasing running volume I have to stretch twice, once after the run I did that day and another time in the evening/night.
This usually remedies any tightness, and is equally a preventative measure towards muscle fatigue and injuries.

Ultimately you go by what your body is telling you:
Are you feeling tighter than usual? Stretch and or Roller
Are your legs more fatigued/weaker than usual? Stretch and or Roller.

12.54 miles in 47 minutes and 19 seconds. Not sure if it was the sunny weather or the new Drake album that made me ride a little faster this time around (:

This was just about the exact route the triathlon is. Call it I ride 50 minutes, that gives me about an hour to swim .33 miles and run a 5k with transitions in order to make my goal of 2 hours.

I also got off my bike and ran a slow 10 minute mile right after these 12 and 1/2 miles, even if I walk the damn 5K on race day, I think I got this.
