I deadlift and squat in Asics wrestling shoes. They were 50 bucks.

the previous shoes I had were basically wrestling shoes, and I enjoyed them

I DL and Squat in my vans.
Not really giving advice, but since we're already on the topic of shoes I just did it b/c I heard flat soles were best and my running shoes had a little cushion on the heel i think

just buy a pair of shoes at payless dude u taking this a bit too far ur one of those people that cares more about looking cool than looking jacked. example: u make sure ur gym clothes are all matching and u pull ur sleeves up to ur cepts are showing but in the middle of a set ur sleeve falls down so ur cept isn't showing so u stop the set and push it back up then u continue the set another time u only did 4 pullups cuz u didn't want to flail around a bit and get a couple extra cuz u thought ud look like a dying fish like ur dad did when he was on the ground prostrate and helpless choking on a goldfish cracker my advice to u is worry less about what is in vogue and more about ur small measurements good luck

Chucks work well in my opinion, just make sure if you plan to do any cardio in the same session bring shoes to switch into for that, cause imo theyre amazing for lifts / squats but your feet get sore as fuck within 5 mins of walking in them.
