What are your go-to meals currently?
I'm super basic and really only make a few standard things which i eat day in /day out... but i don't mind it all that much
we played RS so...

pork chop with onions
bananas
cucumbers
homemade hamburger helper with peas and corn in it (only real bad thing is the starch imo)
eggs
whole wheat bread
sometimes chicken
various other vegetables depending on how i feel and cost.

i dont have much money so its hard to buy healthier shit and the stuff above is what ive found i can afford.

usually when i get up i will have a banana and 2 pieces of toast with some peanut butter on em.

then just mix of other stuff through the day.

i know i should be eating rice, i just dont like it that much... nevertheless im going to give it a try again.

What do you crave?

Wipe a touch of poop on it, eat it and you probably won’t crave it again

Yeah rice is a standard for me. But there's other carbs. Potatoes are super cheap and easy to make.
Can do eggs and home fries with some salt/pepper and whatever other seasoning you want. (i use garlic/onion powder)

Ground turkey and rice
Chicken with broccoli and onion
pasta chicken broccoli and onion

Sometimes I'll do a fried rice with either turkey or chicken in rice, onions, brocolli, scrambled egg, & soy sauce.

Tilapia is cheap and good with a side of rice or broccoli.

Again, I don't mind making the same exact things over and over so I found the few veggies i enjoy (broccoli & onion) and just make some stuff with that.'

I'll throw in buffalo sauce into my ground turkey. Just depends on finding the things you like and making them in a way that you enjoy.
All of the above mentioned are cheap. If you're not worried about having exclusively lean protein you can do pork chops which i used to do a lot. also rice depends how you make it. I like my rice more dry and sticky. A rice cooker has helped me make it better plus then i just let it sit once its done. You can get different types of rice that taste better which i've recently started doing (tho slightly more expensive relative to the 10lb bag of white rice iused to buy lol)

Can do burrito bowls - just throw some corn/beans/rice/salsa/etc into a bowl and it's pretty easy and cheap.
Veggie wise I do eat other stuff like brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, and whatever. Just find the things that work for you and stick to it.
Fruit is pretty sweet so I'll eat plums as my snack or banana w/ peanut butter. Not gonna give you the same satisfaction as eating the cupcakes and whatever junk, but after you'll feel happier. Just try to follow the healthy eating the majority of the time.
It's a lifestyle, not a diet. As long as you don't get completely side tracked you'll do fine. Also helps to not have to keep junkfood around the house, cause when it's sittign around I go through it quick. Bought chocolate covered almonds to treat myself and devoured em lol.
Depends on your own ability to control your eating. You know yourself best. Can you have a couple chocolate covered almonds for ex. per day and not finish the box? Or do you need to go ham whenever you do and keep away the rest of the time.

edit:

also one thing i've found to be pretty damn good (tho im often lazy) is my smoothie

I throw a frozen banana, spoon of peanut butter, chocolate protein powder, almond milk, spoon of cocoa powder, 10 second drip of honey, (and on occasion a couple strawberries if i feel like it) into a blender and just mix it up.
Comes out tasting real good and dessert like and is pretty healthy.
Can also do acai bowls but those are more pricey so i've only made it a few times

ye i find when i have junkfood around i will just devour it as its simple to grab and eat. since i moved into my own place i now cook like 90% of my meals (used to be like 99% but ive been bad )

one thing i really want to start doing is making smoothies, looking into buying a blender atm.

as for the other foods i will make sure to try it.

i as well love brocolli and onions but i find onions better so i generally just have em (even though i should have more variety)

I got lazy with the shakes, but it's certainly a good snack/meal to go to if you're hungry instead of junk plus they taste good

And when i do broccoli onions chicken and soy sauce it tastes like chinese food to me lol and it's also good for you
Was gonna ask if you lived solo. It's easier that way cause you can control what you buy and is laying around the house.
As opposed to others buying oreos and junk that you want to eat cause it's sitting around and you see others doing it
Maybe get some snacks you like as well
I do greek yogurt. Some of those if you buy the individual ones they've got some very good flavors like chocolate raspberry and stuff. So look around at those. Tastes like dessert and good. May be more pricey than junk food but it's honestly not that expensive. Do you have an est. weekly budget for food? I spend about $50 ish a week on food I think. Could be more or less depending on number of stuff but it's mostly cheap

Should be do-able. Depends how much meat you generally eat at once but I'm in nyc and am lately eating 1lb per meal cause tried upping it, but it came out to a little over $50, so im sure you can find cheaper.
