You don't see Rhoden on the podium? I see him as Phil's closest competitor, outside of Kai if Kai was competing like a man.

Yeah, it's dead to most. I'm hoping for a Dexter Jackson win, his youtube page is filled with good content.

I feel like Dexter was somewhat overlooked back in the day. I'm in awe at his longevity at the top end of the sport.



I felt he was a disappointment last year and the year before. I thought he looked better in 2014 & 2014. I thought he might even take over then, but I feel that he has devolved too much since then. I also thought Phil looked his best in 2014, too. I find Phil really weird because he seems to flatten out a little and lose his conditioning over the event. Trouble is, he's so genetically gifted that he doesn't need to be 100% to beat everyone. In 2013, Phil had way better muscle bellies than Kai, but Kai had an aesthetic advantage. In 2014 I thought came in just slightly deconditioned and flattened out a bit, but I also could've seen him winning that one.

Dexter has been incredibly consistent during that same time period but I don't feel that his legs have "stood" the test of time. I think he has a way better aesthetic than most of the competition, and he stays reasonably conditioned. I'd love to see him win but it's not going to happen.

Question: if/when Phil wins again this year, will he stick around to try to make it 8 or even 9?

i feel bad for roelly b/c he needs to get his conditioning right. he's an absolute beast and i find like he could drop some size and do better.

tbh i could see this being ramy's year. phil's gut is terrible this year. f*cking horribad. i might have ramy ahead, it's a tough call. he's way bigger and in some poses he looks a lot better than phil. this could be phil's 2nd/3rd ripoff win.

Roelly's conditioning wasn't bad last year tho. He still got fucked over.

I think Roelly just shoots for the moon on muscularity and then works on conditioning as a kind of sideshow. He does look really good sometimes.

^ And yep, that's what I was thinking about Ramy this year too. Based on last night I think he may have this. Phil's traps can't save him forever. Ramy's abs are tighter than Phil's. And he's way bigger. Phil took a big step down from last year in my opinion. And Ramy took a step up.

Martinez still has the best pec control. When he does the most muscular he flexes the pec layer after layer going from the bottom to the top. But time caught up with them and I feel he does not have it anymore.

Dexter's secret is 1 compound free weight movement and the rest machines per muscle group. Said it felt better on his joints and still allows him to get the same feeling and sensation.

Dex's secret is crazy genetics and consistency. I've heard that he's big on fw too. Makes sense.

Am I right that the finals go live in 2h15m from now? Can someone post the official stream here pls? That way nobody will need to search dummy links of guys just commenting on why they have crushes on Phil's distended stomach.
