Isn't ur max bench like 155 lbs?

It's not about how much you lift, it's about how much you look like you can lift.

Chalk up your hands you fukkin pussy.

A lawsuit cuz your pathetic little fingers couldn't hold onto a bar that's literally been designed to be held onto

Chalk doesn't help when you're sliding OUTWARD on a bench. There is little to no knurling left on these bars.

I deadlift (traditional) in the mid 500s as a 165er so I'm pretty sure my grip strength has nothing to do with it.

However, feel free to keep talking like you're some big hulk since that's obviously what your e-ego needs.

I'm with turtol on this one. Quit being a beta and learn to grip. Everybody is suing everything in today's litigious world... It is making our country turn into a bunch of babies with no sense of personal accountability. If something bad happens to you we are taught always to blame something else... Grow the fuck up and learn to hold yourself accountable... If you realize that you might be putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation by lifting bars that have "little to no knurling" either DON'T fucking use the bar or MAN THE FUCK UP... Coming to d2jsp to ask about lawsuits on such said subject... Pathetic.

You're literally either incompetent and/or blind. I want to provide LINKS to the gym to help ENCOURAGE them to purchase new barbells (which any real lifter would rejoice about). If you simply ask your gym to purchase new equipment they're going to politely tell you to fuck off and proceed to buy another treadmill. Money is the only thing that talks when you are working with commercial gym facilities. If you can convince them that buying a few $300 barbells alleviates the risk of a $300,000 lawsuit then you'll most likely get what you want.

Maybe the bar isn't sitting right in your hands

When you say the bar sliding outwards do you mean forwards towards your belly button?

Have not had this issue with any bars at other facilities. The bar is sitting fine in my hands, it's just too slick. When you're trying to "bend the bar" the force is going to push your hands out towards the weights which isn't an issue when there is knurling there to prevent any sort of real movement. That isn't the case on a slick bar where the lack of knurling and even a slight amount of sweat can cause major slipping.

By outwards I mean my hands are literally sliding out towards the ends of the bar.

Perhaps you are doing that cue wrong

If you think about what 'bending the bar cue' is trying to achieve its tucking the elbows, lat engagement and pulling the bar (down) towards you. Once you initiate that 'bending the bar feeling' and the elbows tuck and the lays engage you shouldn't have to waste anymore energy forcing your hands out. It's a bench press after all not a lying down row

A slippery bar is always going to be a slippery bar though, I use chalk for bench even on decent bars. *sweaty hands crew*

I usually don't need to use my chalk on bench outside of competitions (when I'm sweaty and nervous). I'm not 100% sure if chalking will make that big of a difference with this bar but if I get stuck with it again I'll give it a shot.

I'd much rather them pay a few hundred $$$ and get some good bars in for the greater good anyway.

Is this how Americans see the world?

The perspective of how can I sue or pose the threat of to get what I want.

This is why that stereotype exists.

Roll with what you have and be fortunate to have bars at all.

Just send them an email on the official site.

Express concern and safety issues and appreciation to a situation solved.

No need to link them lawsuits right away?
