Right, but my point is about the practical conception of 'concentric' so far as it is important to be aware of whether the movement is concentric. As I put it, the
focus is not on whether the movement is concentric or not. The focus is on performance, and athletes will typically be given cues -- none of which will be "pay attention that the movement is concentric".
That is, sports are concentric dominant, but NOBODY trains in sports with any thought or care that the movement is concentric. Whereas in any lifting endeavour, awareness of whether the movement is concentric, eccentric, can be useful and important to know.
In sports training (when it's not lifting) you are not aware that you are
training concentric movement, you are aware that you are training to perform.
