tbh it's all about your opportunity cost. if you dont take those classes, what will you do with the 200$/month? will it make you as happy?

its much less here (alberta) for unlimited classes.
80$ ish is the average for top level mma gyms or even just top specific martial art gyms

that price is steep, a boxing gym local to me charges similar prices, but the coach is a former professional and i'm in NJ where everything is expensive.

it's clear you're passionate about it, so if you're able to swing the bill and get your money's worth by going to the gym often enough, go for it!

getting trained in martial arts, if not anything else, will teach you hard discipline that you'll be able to apply to many things outside the gym, even long after you stop training.

GL and don't overlook the importance of stretching, stay flexible!

Lol ive seen 100's of people come in and leave Jackson's mma in the past 4-5 years.

They all want to fight but can't even get past sparring....

If you're rich and money is not a problem then do it....

Just choose a gym that trained bellator/ufc fighters.

IF they have ZERO experience with professional MMA fights...then you're getting ripped.

At jackson's MMA where you can train with some of the best fighters in the UFC/bellator.....you're only paying 200$+. That's like 900$ to live there near the gym too.

If you're poor and want to get serious.......Move here to Albuquerque. Housing is cheap. A room is like 325-425$/month. Get a job right near jackson's MMA..it's literally downtown so you can walk everywhere. Cerrone literally hires people who knows how to do construction work in the summers to work at his farm or whatever the fuck he has. He has like dorm rooms out there that he rents out to serious fighters. He is literally down with ANYONE who is chill and wants to train. It's like a college dorm room MMA lifestyle trying to make it to the big leagues VIA JACKSON's MMA.

Ive been into this crap for years but it gets to you. You'll have back problems from bjj. You'll have knee/foot problems from kicking. Those are the 2 that wrecks 100% of mma fighters/trainers. Everything else will be fine, and fixing it will be fine but your knees and back does not last too long :)

So make sure you're ready for this shit. I gave it all up for running/bjj.

by the way. What's weight are you trying to compete in?

You said you wanted to be a top martial artist. Which means you want to be a good MMA fighter right?

Happiness >

If you're comfortable there, getting everything you want, and the price isn't forcing you to extremes like having to starve your kid...who cares
