Not much we can really suggest from JSP

Try seeking behavioral psychology or getting a diagnosis. Exhaust all options with a legitimate and heartfelt try - apply yourself with time and the belief that what you are trying (yoga, meditation, focus exercises, brain games, adjusting sleep-wake cycle etc. etc.) will make at least SOME difference.

Concerta is not the best choice for people - the way the drug releases is just not ideal for some.

There are way too many people on these drugs. Parents and children themselves who believes they should be doing this stuff to succeed because "they're really smarter/better" than they currently are doing in life and they need the 'medication' to help them achieve their true potential. Be cautious about the risk of dependence and what it may make you do or feel in the future and also educate yourself on the short term side effects too.

No doubt bro I was half-heartedly joking, but adderrall is severely addictive.

I remember in grade school a kid had ADHD and ADD and all sorts of shit. He had to go to the nurse like 3 times a day to take his meds. One was before recess and that kid would come blasting through those double doors like "YESSSSSA MOTHERFUCKER IM ALLLLIIIIVEEEEE O_O" and proceed to run into walls and shit

I'll never forget the kids name either, he talked a million miles an hour and wore glasses that made his tweak eyes look even bigger O_O

Hindsights always 20/20 and that kid most certainly was HIGH ASF on legal amphetamines looooool

Efficacy has gotta drop as tolerance begins to develop and those who say you don't develop a tolerance are fucking stupid

All I'm saying is be careful big boss man, sometimes the internal problem doesn't respond to external stimuli

Best post I've seen in a while. I pictured a nerd just running through the doors of my 3rd grade class and saying that.

I take concertas when I need to study.

You're not suppose to get hyper, if anything you just get strung out, zombieish feeling

Honestly just sounds like you've convinced yourself there's some magical pill that will fix you when there may not even be anything wrong. Why don't you go and get your medical degree and then try talking down to your doctor, rather than thinking you know how to diagnose and treat disease better than she does, without an md

I tried 9 days of Concerta 36mg. Felt absolutely nothing. I hear people without ADD get hyper on this. Just nothing. A coffee does 100x more.

I went into the same doctor today. She prescribed me 10mg biphentin instead, told me it's something different. I asked for adderall XR, so she also gave me a script for 10mg adderall xr.

I asked her what to do. She said:
- fill one script, see if it works, if it doesn't, take multiple pills in a day
- if that doesn't work, fill the other script, and do the same thing... try 10mg one day, then 20mg, and then 30mg

This feels like a shitshow of medical advice.

She also didn't seem to know that biphentin is the same as concerta. They're both just one thing: Methylphenidate. They just release at different rates. If 36mg of Concerta did shit all, 10mg of biphentin is a joke. That's like giving someone a blue caffeine pill at 10mg because the red caffeine pill at 40mg didn't wake them up. So I'm worried that she would give me a 10mg script for biphentin. Is she just testing me to see if I react to placebo?

I also asked her for 20mg adderall XR, she said start at 10mg. She was really apprehensive giving me the script.

How the fuck do I find a proper psychiatrist or medical doctor who doesn't prescribe me the same fucking thing in a different brand name, telling me it's something different?

I've concluded my doctor isn't knowledgeable enough about ADHD to diagnose me, or treat me if I do have ADHD (ADD-inattentive).

My next step is to find a new doctor who is qualified and experienced in this area. I will hopefully receive a psych referral.
