I never knew about that calculator thanks for the info
Yeah barbell I'm not sure I could get it with as good form tbh my grip game is lacking I may get it reverse grip.
Edit: Best believe I'm going to make it in that 90% haha

btw it means ur stronger than 89% of males in your age group that actually lift. Based on the entire population you are probably stronger than 99.8%

congrats now go fist yourself

So after 3-4 years lifting now I hit a 500lb dead lift the other day.
Here's the thing I'm 5'11 @ 200 lbs using the low grip hexbar.
Is this a considered a "good" amount of weight to be pulling for the years spent?
What can I do to better and go up from here?

gz :)

yes it's a good amount although i rarely dabble in hex. i like it but we don't have it @ our gym.

there's always something you can do (but don't nose torque it), but it depends on your routine, form, etc (i didn't check the video out yet). being heavier would probably help but if you lift for comps or you're after a certain physique that's not a big help.

the etc would be changing anything from clothing to breathing technique. i think it was Aube who posted a really good video on approaching the DL a while ago. it's mostly about the way in and being consistent about it, but i found it helpful as a lifter of 25 years. there may not be a simple answer outside of experimenting with technique and routine, although you said you change up your routine often. maybe something stable for a while would help.

oh, does you have a strength coach? or a mentor with experience lifting big weight? that's obviously one way to get better.

Thanks for the advice, I too think a consistent routine will help in the long term. I don't do any comps or anything just do it for my own enjoyument and to build strength was just wondering where I stood.

I don't have a strength coach or anything I read slot of articles and videos on the internet. There isn't many people around where I live to give advice and it's even hard to find someone that is serious enough to even make it to the gym

This, most people can do a pretty decent amount more in trapbar compared to barbell.

Considering thats most likely more than what 90% of the population can do, I'd say so.

98 for sure. You underestimate how many sedentary fucks there are.

Even if it equates to a 315 lb conventional deadlift it's not terrible. You could easily hit 3 plates in far less than 10 years but I mean if he's not competing and just lifting for intrinsic benefit then he's stronger than a lot of the population already

Of course a 3 plate dl will prove someone stronger than most of the population.
But I mean it takes like what, 6-12 months to hit a 315lbs if you are ''average sized'' and don't have much athletic background so it can be achieved by a sedentary person pretty quick.
