Thread is just about as cancerous as the amount the wine that I've consumed today.

Marathons are literally the dumbest thing. There's literally no point.

The first guy to ever do it died, so people continued doing it. Makes sense.

you can make the same point about anything. what's the point in loving? having friends? enjoying your food?

it's all arbitrary

someone has a deep irrational hatred toward marathon runners

Not really.

I just think it's completely useless and you could be making better choices to get much better results in terms of health and progress.

I absolutely hate when people say this. Okay so then what's the point in living? Might as well die if you have that kind of attitude.

Cardiovascular health can be fantastic with running a lot less than 26 miles and you don't get amazing skeletal muscle hypertrophy from it. Might as well run harder for less and then use the rest of the time to do resistance training.

Compared to what? Bodybuilding? People have died lifting, whether by causing their body too much stress overload or by weights crushing them to death... Does that make lifting weights "the dumbest thing?" Is there "Literally no point?"

And who said anything about marathons? Running can be very healthy in salubrious dosages.

I am a people and I have never died bodybuilding.

I literally die when i run tho

you criticize the precise attitude/perspective you possess. LOL

people are so fawking dumb.

the point is that nothing matters. nothing means anything. but we don't go around saying "well life is ultimately kind of pointless so let's just off ourselves." we find things that offer us a sense of meaning, happiness, pleasure, purpose, etc.

you can't stand firmly behind thinking the idea that offing yourself because life is meaningless is silly and at the same time so strongly posit the ridiculousness of anyone's predilections.

you are literally saying yes and shaking your head no.

but you're probably 100-110 IQ rando intellectual scrub and in keeping with such completely oblivious to the contradiction in the few sentences you wrote.

I absolutely hate thoughtless morons who think they've stumbled on some novel, profound idea while in reality remain quite blind

stay canaille
