I agree but it depends on what he wants. If he's trying to be a freak beast he is clearly doing it wrong. I think he's just trying to be a bulky aesthetic guy who makes money from posting garbage all over the internet. Just my impression.

It's clear he's after more of a "men's physique" build.

However... I've seen enough of his videos to see that he's trying to put on more size, and hasn't been able to. You can read between the lines, and I've never heard him say "I don't want to get much bigger". In the video I linked he responded to a comment about him being the same size he was 5 years ago, and he dodged addressing what his personal goals specifically are.

Love how this thread turned into a "scott herman" roast.

Most all of us in here who dont abuse or cycle steroids would also get "destroyed" in any mens physique competition.

If you want to "compete" in those types of competitions you better start taking steroids like the majority of them just dont be upset when you have heart problems or get cancer within a decade.

But this isn't about me, or anyone here.

Scott Herman puts himself out there. His body, and his bodybuilding knowledge, are the backbones of his career. He represents his channel as a hub of knowledge from which correct information can be found. He generates videos in which he talks about limitations and the kinds of gains a natural lifter can expect.

With that all said, to say "Well, we're not ones to talk", is just wrong. He is putting information out there, but he's not able to get bigger. It is very fair to be critical about that. If he were to come out and say "I don't want to get much bigger", then that would be a very fair explanation. But most evidence seems to point to the fact that he thinks he's close to his natural genetic potential, and that raises the question... how much of his advice is absolute bullshite.

What's worse is channels that are just like Scott Herman's (high quality), but the guy running the channel is on the juice. Okay-ish advice + dedication + juice = results that are impressive to any natural lifter.

Here's just one example:
I was VERY bad at bodyweight pullups, and didn't progress much with barbell curls either. As soon as I started doing swing assisted positive motion, and heavy resistance on the negative, I grew and got stronger real fast. You swing yourself up, or swing the bar up, and you give as much resistance on the way down. That's not the way to train all the time, but I broke through barriers. But then you go and look at a channel like Scott Herman, and you'd think if you don't fully elongate your muscle, and fully contract it, and focus on good form, and you have to keep your shoulders fixed in place, and your pace has to be 2 up and 2 down, bla bla... you'll get nowhere. Most arms days I'm doing proper form on curls, with full contraction, but usually once I get to a 6 rep max or something, I'll push through to do a couple extra reps by swinging up. You'll only hit slow twitch muscle fibers purely focusing on goody-goody form, you'll never push to heavier weights.

Hahaha I image searched him and saw that. Thought it was fake. Hope he got paid well those pictures burned my eyes.

I don't really want to see what kinds of things he did, but if it was just posing nude or sexually... and he isn't doing gay sexual favors or sticking rubber cocks up his ass for a livecam... then whatever, it's nice to be admired & paid. A little fucked up tho.

Just reading through this information that I assume you got from Scott Herman reaffirms that he knows virtually nothing factual about exercise. Goody goody form uses slow twitch muscle fibers?
