Love how this thread turned into a "scott herman" roast.
Most all of us in here who dont abuse or cycle steroids would also get "destroyed" in any mens physique competition.
If you want to "compete" in those types of competitions you better start taking steroids like the majority of them just dont be upset when you have heart problems or get cancer within a decade.
But this isn't about me, or anyone here.
Scott Herman puts himself out there. His body, and his bodybuilding knowledge, are the backbones of his career. He represents his channel as a hub of knowledge from which correct information can be found. He generates videos in which he talks about limitations and the kinds of gains a natural lifter can expect.
With that all said, to say "Well, we're not ones to talk", is just wrong. He is putting information out there, but he's not able to get bigger. It is very fair to be critical about that. If he were to come out and say "I don't want to get much bigger", then that would be a very fair explanation. But most evidence seems to point to the fact that he thinks he's close to his natural genetic potential, and that raises the question... how much of his advice is absolute bullshite.
What's worse is channels that are just like Scott Herman's (high quality), but the guy running the channel is on the juice. Okay-ish advice + dedication + juice = results that are impressive to any natural lifter.
Here's just one example:
I was VERY bad at bodyweight pullups, and didn't progress much with barbell curls either. As soon as I started doing swing assisted positive motion, and heavy resistance on the negative, I grew and got stronger real fast. You swing yourself up, or swing the bar up, and you give as much resistance on the way down. That's not the way to train all the time, but I broke through barriers. But then you go and look at a channel like Scott Herman, and you'd think if you don't fully elongate your muscle, and fully contract it, and focus on good form, and you have to keep your shoulders fixed in place, and your pace has to be 2 up and 2 down, bla bla... you'll get nowhere. Most arms days I'm doing proper form on curls, with full contraction, but usually once I get to a 6 rep max or something, I'll push through to do a couple extra reps by swinging up. You'll only hit slow twitch muscle fibers purely focusing on goody-goody form, you'll never push to heavier weights.
