Quite honestly, you really don't need to have a meal plan or meal prep if you're not doing a show or an athlete. With that being said, it won't hurt you if you do.
For the average person just looking to lose weight or even gain when lifting, you just need to worry about a few things. Enough protein, caloric goal, vitamins/fish oil.
Obviously it is ideal to eat fruits/veggies, proper protein foods, carbs, etc.
It isn't necessary though and you can always supplement with the proper items. Protein powder, multivitamins, fish oil, and whatever else.
When it comes down to it, nutrition is way easier than people make it out to be. The caloric value is way more important than worrying about what kind of carbs, where you get your protein from, and what kind of fats. (Unless you're being a moron and your diet is 100% saturated fat or some nonsense like that)
If you just had spine surgery less than a year ago you would be much better off going to a pt, a doctor for tests, or some other certified person than asking us or just saying fuck it and start lifting. Your spine is something you don't fuck with and it's better to be safe than sorry.
gonna go to a pt
thx
