I've tried what kelly starret recommends by getting into the bottom position and then setting core etc but it just feels a lot weaker to me. Likely because I'm inexperienced and a "grip it n rip it" style yields a messier but heavier dead.

What do you think about screwing feet into the ground for torque during the dl?

I just imagine im trying to pull start a giant lawn mower but i need to use 2 hands to yank it, just bend down and yank it hard

Pretty good overall. Looks too aggressive at the end of each movement as cloudkicker said with the lumbar flexion. I used to have the same problem but I learn to brace my core and flex my glutes while improving overall mouvement patern. Also I'd deadstop the deadlift.
