I had a discussion with my massage therapist yesterday about crossfit and he mentioned a study that compared athleticism and performance in sports between top crossfit athletes and top Olympic lifters and in all tests Olympic lifters are far superior.

He said cross fitters are all going to see joint Injuries later in life because ultimately exercises in crossfit are designed so that you eventually break form to complete reps (AMRAP). Moreover the volume is unsustainable.

Both oly lifters and crossfit athletes look physically great, but who is truly in better shape?

Televised crossfit is a gladiator sport just like hockey, football and rugby. No athlete who plays at a top level is going to maintain their body because they are making too many sacrifices to produce the absolute best performance they can. That's why nhl goalies have shifty knee mechanics, NFL players suffer neurological symptoms from their many concussions, and crossfitters will wear our their bodies with constant high load repetitions. Pro sports kill bodies, we've known that for a long time

Olympic weightlifters are probably the fittest athletes on earth. Especially the lower-mid weight classes.

Highest power-to-weight ratio, incredible feats of pound-for-pound strength, also good at big three, fast sprinters, can jump very high/long etc.
