80s is pretty nuts tho. that's more than my db chest press.



I can't even imagine a 1rm with dbs.. you get quite a bit out of the stretch reflex, and getting them into a decent starting position would be tough. you're going for a 305 push press by sept??


W/ 80lb db's I can usually kick them up with my knees and get situated. Depending on the bench tho sometimes it's hard to plant my back firmly so ill have someone lift the dbs up for me and get situated. Usually have someone push my elbows in on the first rep when I'm going heavy, for some reason I can crank em out after that but the first one is always a bitch!

305 on bench by sept. I used to rep 225x5 last July-August, shoulder probs, took time off from bench.. then ultimately all together. 180lb on bench now is a fucking struggle lol!

yeah, i can usually use my knees to get em up, but a 1rm kicking em up could cause some shoulder injury if it goes wrong. The first one is hard cuz you have no stretch reflex.

aww fuk that sucks D: Hope you get back to that 300+ bench tho!

I can only hit 135 on the barbell standing for 12. I haven't tried to go heavier. I hit the 70 dbs for 8 standing.. so they're about the same for me.

yo next time you do standing db presses, try this as a burn out. press each arm individually and hold the one you aren't pressing at 90 degrees. go slow af on the negative and drop set it. dat pump

Can bench 225 for 5 reps but can barely do 105 for 5 on OHP . My OHP hasn't moved in forever , I don't get it.
