He lets it crash to the floor.

Personally, i control the the lowering of the deadlift too, i never let it crash.

Because deadlifts is only the lift up, not the lift back down (like a squat and bench is both down and up)

The risk vs reward of lowering a heavy deadlift is not worth it

No good deadlifters ever lower their deadlift, ever, ever

Edit: i hope u see the correlation of u injurying yourself and trying to lower your deadlift

Ryan has a point bro. It's an unnessisary strain on your back to slowly lower it down. Doesn't mean you have to drop it, but don't baby it down. If it's loud, put mats under it, and hand out tampons to the bitches on their periods

Sounds like you pinched a nerve to be honest. It happens from time to time due to slight variations in your movement. Just rest up, sometimes it can take two days to feel better. I've had plenty

Used to let it fall everytime after I got to my working sets when I went to a gym with rubber coated weights and mats. Amazing how much energy you save not slowly lowering it down. Would feel awkward with metal weights though haha. Going into broscience mode though it seems like lowering them to the floor could be more of a bodybuilding approach to it vs powerlifting as you could keep constant tension on your muscles muuuuch easier when controlling the entire lift.

Unnecessary strain? Muscle tissue is fundamentally stronger eccentrically than it is concentrically. If you pull it up it should be a breeze to lower it.
