don't even know what any of that means.

Blood sugar apikes and then drops so less blood glucose.

Less blood to muscle = less oxygen = less atp production = less energy

He's saying precious blood will be in your belly to digest that food rather than giving you a sweet pump / gainz

Which is not anywhere near true rofl. If activity increases, then blood flow in reconditioning organs decreases to compensate for the need for more blood in more metabolically active organs (skeletal muscle in this case).

in regards to OP, feel free to eat whatever u want before lifting. You're probably experiencing a placebo effect, but if you feel like you're doing yourself justice, knock yourself out.

True, I'm curious, would it merely slow down digestion or would it hinder the absorption process

Idk just after squats I get really burnt out. Hard to finish my workout, just feel so dead until I eat something light

Uhh I wouldn't say think there is a direct hindrance in absorption, so to say. You have ANS-induced changes in more general, "innervate-able" functions such as changes in saliva secretion, rate of peristalsis, opening of sphincters, etc. Those are all things that can be regulated directly.

Chemical fluctuations relative to environment effect rates of absorption, but those localized to digestion aren’t altered too much during physical activity.

They totally are. If blood flow to gut epithelial lining is reduced then you quickly reduce concentration gradients that drive absorptive processes. If blood is not there to carry things away they accumulate
