Good thing you got it out! I had a very red eye last summer. My boss kept telling me I had pink eye. Had never had pink eye or went to an eye doctor because of redness. Turns out I had staph infection in my eyeball! Glad I went! Glad you went!

staph infection in eyeball = pink eye

I was told there was a difference. Staph infection is staphiliculitus, while pink eye is the equivalent to the common cold, just in your eyeball
