I started with beard oil and switched to beard balm, although I occasionally go back to the beard oil for a day or two.

My beard is around 3 inches, so I prefer the balm as it is the middle ground between oil and wax. I think it helps better with the random strays.

Oil makes your beard look way more greasy (wet) than the balm does.

I use both of these. I think the Bay Rum smells amazing.

do you use the balm in the mornings? As in, it doesnt leave your beard looking messy throughout the day?

I haven't tried the balm yet but I've been eyeballing that one for some time. Balm is like beard wax only not so stiff. Work a little bit into your beard and brush it in.

This guy is the best.
