what were you playing?

$250 is a small amount to lose, so just remember the feeling of the loss if it bothers you to that extent

my best advice if you decide to gamble in the future:

only walk in to a casino or sit down at a table with whatever amount that you are prepared to lose..also, only play things where you have an understanding of how they work and your probabilities therein..when i started, i really liked roulette and had decent success..then i taught myself to count cards in blackjack and practiced at that for a few months before even sitting at a casino table (even with counting cards, at best, the odds are only marginally in your favor)..poker is another story haha

You learned your lesson, simple as that. If you can't afford to lose $250, better yet, if this makes you sick to your stomach, you obviously can't afford to lose that much. Only thing you can do now is remember this mistake and learn from it.

If you want to gamble, just mess around with small amounts like $5 wagers w/ buddies - makes things interesting AND affordable. If you lose, because it IS a GAMBLE, everything is fine and it won't effect you.

I find it surprising how many people say $250 is a small amount to lose in one sitting. What are you playing? lol and how much money do you make? $250 is a days wage or more for a lot of people. That's not a small amount of money in my mind

I've lost 200-250 several times. I actually keep track of my wins and losses ever since I started going to the casino with my buddy. In my whole life, I've lost $1395 (adding up all the losses and subtracting all the winnings) all time in the 3 years I've been going.

I mostly play blackjack, and go with a certain amount, and don't pull more to try to win back what was lost. That's where you get in to trouble. I do it for entertainment and that is all. When I go, I go with the expectation of losing the money, even if the goal is to win money and be entertained in the process

Never gamble with money you can't afford to lose, ever.

I can fully understand how people get addicted to gambling. It's exciting. The high and lows emotionally when you win big and lose big is enticing. It's easy for thrill seeker type people to get addicted imo.

Over all, the amount of money I've lost at the casino is well worth the ridiculous amount of hours I've been entertained, fun times, interesting conversations with random people, free drinks etc etc. I've even gone to the casino with buddies and not gambled, even though I went with the intent to gamble. It can be just fun/interesting observing people. I've seen people go on winning streaks I could only dream of. It's crazy. I've had a couple decent winning streaks, but my losing streaks have been pretty absurd a time or 2

Gambling is funnest when you're on vacation in a new place. The caribbean is a great place to gamble for fun in my experience.

i lost 1200$ lol and thats being a part time worker and a college student. you'll get over it. 250$ in the grand scheme of thing is nothing. i put 200$ on black in roulette lol (and lost). i enjoy gambling here and there but like mentioned before, only gamble what your comfortable losing. take it as a lesson that maybe you aren't cut out for gambling if you dont wanna lose money. with the exception of texas hold em, the odds are ALWAYS against you in any table game/slot machine no matter what strategy you have. theres no getting rid of a house edge, only reducing it by not making obviously stupid bets. i enjoy the thrill part of it having a 100-200$ on the table at once and knowing the roll of the dice or where the ball lands can produce a big win or have it all wiped away in one shot. the idea is to make your money last the night and spread the fun out. not lose 600$ like i did in 25 minutes lol
