been doing behind the neck presses and my bench has shot up alot. although regular ohp does hit the upper chest it should make ur chest grow a bit for sure. good exercise

Mobility and form doesn't stop external rotation

you will see better chest results from bench if u spread ur hands out farther
idk if that was obvious to you or not, but the closer your hands are together, the more you use your tricepts

arent your shoulders externally rotated in a squat? especially low bar? minus the press? with light weight i dont see the exercise an issue

Having the shoulders externally rotated isn't the problem moving them from neutral to either internal or externally rotated with resistance is

Eg facepulls are great even though youre in the externally rotated position for the whole exercise

high risk of injury because you're placing the joint in a weak position

the benefits are generally minimal vs a regular press, usually not worth it, people just do it ''because they can'' and generally have no good reason to be doing them anyway

doesn't seem to be a problem for oly lifters who are btn pressing and jerking 300+ pounds
