Bunch of ridiculous responses here. Don't fight him and don't even entertain the thought of doing so. You don't need to flex your alpha card or anything of the such. Shake his hand. Introduce yourself. That's all you need to do. Show some respect and ignore any attempt he makes to get you worked up. Being a man is not determined by who can fight the best. A man thinks through his actions. Also, take into account the child. He's what is most important in this situation and thrashing his dad (verbally or physically) will do no good for the child.
