Leg press ROM is small compared to squats. 1000 lbs on the leg press is only like 400 lbs with a ½ squat rom and no stabilizer involved.

the main reason i ask this is because i was always told squats were harder on the body
and that they should be avoided with heavy weights
but then again maybe leg press with heavy weights is just as bad

Thanks for making some real numbers to compare
with squats you go beyond 90° at the knee
is that much rom better? was always told its damaging

yeah but its not really a functional movement now is it

how much do you deadlift? it'll give us a better comparison for where you stand

squats are almost always better, exceptions could be with a medical condition etc, but you're training most of the major muscle groups on your leg day instead of doing the actual exercise (aka abd, add etc), do squats and ditch that shit

also not sure why you need to know my deadlift, but I don't do that exercise either, which makes sense doesnt it?

essentially, your exercises can be used as accessories

squats and deadlifts are functional movements which carry over more to things like jumping, running, moving shit around, posture, etc

as it was said, if you only want to look muscular, they arent necessary, even though they are excellent exercises to pack on size, if you want to become strong, theres no way around them
