Try wraps ?

That wouldn't fix his problem.

leg extension machine for quads

hamstring curl machine

using these machines seem to put minimal stress on knees

i try to avoid machines, but i do like these 2 on leg day

also partial ROM squat i guess, if u must

If squats hurt his knee, then leg extension probably even worse for it.

This. Sleeves would be a decent start, but constricting the knee joint like that is not the goal.

I would be looking into correcting your squat form. Squats should improve knee health better than any other exercise. Avoid things like extensions.

Injured my right knee three times pretty significantly.

Leg day is almost non existent right now as I'm coming off an injury.

My physio said to do leg press using half ROM, some lunges and calf work.

I avoid leg curl/extension since it puts all that pressure.

drop weight, find a stance (closer or wider) that takes more pressure off your knees.

if you want to get rid of squats altogether, weighted lunges, leg extensions (quads), leg curls (hamstrings),

What would your leg day look like? Without heavy squats.

What's actually wrong with your knees?

135 10x10 squats superset with 10x10 lunges(each leg)

10x10 goblet squat superset with 10x10 stiff leg deadlifts

10 sets calves

Wanna know what fixed my bad knee? (I was diagnosed patella femoral syndrome)

Traveling and hiking a lot.

Took a year off work and went hiking in Patagonia, New Zealand and Iceland and hiked up Mount Washington. Also did loads of walking every day during my travels including loads of stairs and up and down hills.

My knee has never felt better ... I ran up and down so many hills hiking without any pain it was just awesome.

I think I attribute it to strengthening stabilizers in my legs. Hiking and walking around tons enables you to hit more muscles in reals world scenarios than just weight lifting in a gym ...
