At this point I'd really just like to say "I lost 100 pounds", it will feel like I have really accomplished something.
so far it's not loose probably bc it's taken a while to get to this point.(minus the disgusting arm flaps I have but those have always been there)
I have really avoided gyms, I'm not a very social person and even just going into the store I feel like everyone is watching me... If I come up with a decent routine with the bowflex will that have the same effect?
I've just been running in the mountains and using the exercise bike at home, this will decrease my bf% yes? I know I have lost 70+ lbs but I feel like I don't look that much different which is really disappointing. I should have taken before + after pics :(

well avoiding the gym will net you sub optimal results and you might not achieve what you want to because you lack equipment

yeah if your only goal is to lose weight, you can do that suboptimally by only doing cardio and light resistance exercises, but lifting not only speeds up weight loss by temporarily boosting your base metabolism after training sessions, but it also burns calories while youre doing it and you'll gain muscle and become more defined

you are 5'11 185 with manboobs?

that is really weird.

Just start out with low weights and watch yourself in the mirror.
If that doesnt get your motor going, try finding a buddy about hte same build and train WITH him. Motivation from friends is great and helps you get that extra push to go to the gym.

I too am fat, I was 295-300 (I am 6'2 and a half or so). Lost 30 so far, man boobs are leaving quick due to the heavy weight lifting I have been doing.

The gratification from seeing results such as bigger muscles, more tone body parts, etc is what keeps me going. Try a week straight and you will see some results and it should help ya!

Good luck brother!

well serious lifters at the gym often don't care too much about others

except if they are bigger than u, then u size ur self up and be like, imma copy his workout cause he bigger

sign me up to be his #1 beta follower

then u realize he not natty, and then u cry

cuz ur world shattered and u forgot why u going to the gym to lift in the first place

and then the girls see u crying by the water fountain

and u say hey girl "water"

that is all

I have a bowflex I use a little here and there so I will look into this "resistance training" and see if it is possible with that. I think I still have a ways to go then with weight loss before I have to start building muscle, but if I can do the resistance training I'll give it a go.

Bowflex works fine to be honest.
Just make sure you're training every part of your body.

Maybe do push-ups & sit-ups inbetween sets on it since resistance training on a bowflex isn't really all that powerful.
I'd suggest getting an Iron Gym also.
