Pretty much this. If you want to work at a gym, it just needs to be recognized. Most mainstream gyms pay their trainers complete garbage compared to what they charge, granted you aren't really expected to do shit at a mainstream gym.

IMO, best bet is to get a cheap one and build your own client base. Find a gym that'll let you pay a monthly fee to train your clients there or do online coaching.

My friend earns 25$/ per session, that's pretty damn good and I think he's only been training since like April

The gym I work at is privately owned and the trainer makes all of the $ per session except for like $5.. The majority of our income is from membership dues rather than training though. Kinda nice
