i eat so many bananas people think im crazy..

i work at a supermarket and the only thing to eat that is ready to eat and not trash and not overpriced are bananas... $.70 a pound compared to 1.99+ for peach/apple/organe or w/e

but i eat like a dozen + a day and people think im unhealthy or whatever

the less ripe ones have a higher starch content

bananas are fine for you, but generally if youre at risk for diabetes, its not a great idea to cause big insulin spikes, idk how turtol manages his shit, but thats a ton of sugar

In college, I consumed the same breakfast and mid-afternoon snack nearly everyday; I packed a two bananas, two oranges, yogurt, juice, and tea. It sounded pretty healthy to me. I have a high metabolism and everything seemed fine until I went to the doctor for a medical checkup (required to join the ROTC, which I did not). Fwiw, I used to look like I worked out all the time, I'm still six feet tall but weighed 180 lbs then.

A few weeks later my medical tests came back and I passed everything with flying colors save for one thing—my potassium-salt ratio was high. My family has a history of heart disease and I knew it wasn't because of the salt. I revealed my diet and the doctor said lay off the bananas. "One a day max," she said. Since then, I've limited my intake to one banana a day.

If you consume more than a banana a day, routinely, I would be wary of an unhealthy sodium-potassium ratio. It's probably not safe. I consumed two bananas a day for approximately eighteen months.

Please consult a trained medical professional. This is not a substitute for professional advice.

turtol, have you been diagnosed with any learning/mental disabilities and/or are you under the age of 13?

yeah, don't cause bigger, shorter insulin spikes via simpler sugars. cause smaller, longer-lasting insulin spikes which amount to the same overall insulin response.

it's science

Still high GI insulin spikes etc

550 GRAMS of carbs daily or...calories worth
Unless you're a athlete ( a runner / wrestler / MMA / swimmer ) there's zero reason to take in that amount of carbs
Won't bother commenting on your sugar
