it is somewhat counter intuitive but the science is there in that lightman quote which i don't understand :)

i actually just made up some science-sounding bullshit and put lightman's name on it. i figured nobody would notice the difference

its generally the opposite, but there is no definite answer for everybody

do what works, but it'll most likely be a strength routine during a deficit

Same as bulking. As heavy as you can lift with proper form. 6-12 reps.
