no you can have altered physiological states while dreaming. if this happens often and somebody who sleeps with you notices you snore and occassionally stop breathing while you sleep, thats a better indicator

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't even have to noticeably stop breathing, right? You just don't breathe in a rhythm / properly which causes you to wake in your sleep?

I snore like a mother fucker and have been thinking about going and getting it checked out.

it's where this flap in the back of your throat can't relax all the way I think and it ends up blocking the passage because you're breathing through your mouth. It's what flaps back and forth and makes you snore, then gets stuck shut. Kind of like the plug on your toilet, so the cpap machine keeps constant pressure/air flow through your nose which keep the flap open so it can't shut and keep you from breathing

so yeah you noticeably stop breathing lol you more than likely are just a light sleeper. insurance will cover you getting the tests done but they're annoying as fuck being hooked up to a bunch of machines/monitors all night

i dont know the intricacies of sleep apnea very well, but im sure that could be grounds for a discussion/testing with your doctor

snoring isnt really a problem

only go if you get woken up often during the night, its not lethal or anything, since you have a reflex of waking up and gasping for air if your airway is blocked, and the apnea is caused by the abnormal relaxation of certain muscles in that area during sleep (they recontract when you wake up), so if you wake up gasping for air all night, it'll ruin your sleep, you wont die though

at that time, its probably worth getting it checked out, snoring doesnt really matter, even if it wakes you up from time to time, nothing you can really do
