hip flexor strength isnt specific enough, you need hip flexor endurance which you only get through doing situps but again theyre a shitty exercise

crunches. situps are more of a hip flexor exercise, the abdominals do a little work at the start of the movement as you flex the spine and then the hip flexors move you the other 3/4 of the way. also i dont wanna rip out lumbar spine ligaments with a shitty core exercise that doesnt even utilize my core very much

Maybe if you do situps wrong lol. Instead of just focusing on yanking your body upright any way possible, pull yourself up with your core and keep your back straight the whole time. It will revolutionize your situp game.

major function of the abdominal is to flex the spine with some activity contributing to hip flexion in concert with hip flexor group. If i want a core strengthening exercise why would I select an activity where there is little to no core movement

No movement = no strength, you heard it here first folks.

who do you know that does isometric work for strength? concentric allows for high velocity work and eccentric allows for high force contraction. id rather see someone do weighted crunches. if i wanted high force isometric work id prescribe squats or deads, where there is a significant load that the abdominals have to brace against. if i want accessory work it will be concentric/eccentric work that actually targets the abdominals rather than using them to initiate ROM in a different muscle group

Lol that's a joke of a test.
People who smoke a pack a day could run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes (10:30??) or whatever the time is.

In the Marines bootcamp, which is suppose to the be hardest. Only 1/4 of my platoon could climb a rope. They had super easy obstacle courses and people couldnt carry their own body weight, they couldnt complete them but still passed bootcamp. Everyone still passed. Even though they all failed most of it, they still passed.

There are no requirements, you signed your life over and the fact they have requirements is just a mind game.

my bro joined the army a few years after high school. he failed the shooting test since he pretended he didnt need glasses. no way in hell he could run half a mile. he was overweight. and he passed just fine.

reminds me a lot of school tbh. parents and teachers drilling into you that your grades matter. but the truth is your grades for the 13 years in school means nothing at all.
