use chalk.. you'll feel your grip slipping, i know what you're talking about. that's why you add in other shit to help grip strength... farmers walks, static holds, etc.

Works well for any bar.

There are plenty of powerlifters who use hookgrip aswell.

Youre right, if you have bigger hands it helps. personally i cannot do it with a normal bar.

I have some pathetic tiny biceps, and it also just feels super wonky when I'm pulling sumo the bar kinda wobbles in the air, I hate it.

I was last week, but I'm now dling 15 more lbs and the bar is slipping so fast :(

did you pull your top sets with hook when you were starting, or just warm up with them and used straps/over under until you felt comfortable with it?

it's more the bar rolling, one time it'll roll right out of my fingers, nd fk that.

Every set, the quicker your hands get used to the grip the quicker you can get back to progressing. You're not going to get used to a 3 plate hook grip by only doing it with one plate.

there is no reason for you to have to stop improving your deadlift.. do your deads with mixed grip, or hook grip, whatever, keep that going, but you need to emphasize grip strength in your accessory work

what are you even dling?

they're bruised?

it is gonna be different for everyone.. i've never had that problem personally.

but yeah, just keep at your dl's, at the end of your sets, add in static holds. could even do rack pulls to get more weight up and do static holds with them.

Ooo rack pulls would be a great idea, I used to.do.em with straps those will fit nicely in my program! Maybe my thumbs were bent weird, I.was.holding onto the side of my thumb and the nail was pressed into the bar, only had to reset grip once though
