most important things for gaining weight i've found:
building up an appetite, don't undermine or forget how much physical activity increases your appetite.
you can't eat too much fruit.
eat nuts every day but don't go overboard with them.
same with whole grains, important and essential, don't go crazy.
try to eat at least one home-cooked meal a day
don't focus 100% on calorie density, this always leads to junk food, grow accustomed to eating bigger quantities of whole foods with solid nutritional value
could never recommend too much milk and meat to somebody and keep a good conscience
