I'm having surgery to get my tonsils removed.


Work out and eat as normal before the surgery. You'll eat what you can after. I haven't had my tonsils removed, so I don't know how debilitating they are towards regular lifting. Just try to get down what calories you can, however you can--apple sauce or whatever it takes. Work out as much as you can eat, don't work out beyond the calories you can consume; that's bad. Just basically take the 10-14 days slowly and make sure you're recovered before jumping in again. Do not lift on painkillers.

does your daily caloric intake goal take into account an estimation of the calories burned off during workouts?

i know some people do this, others don't since it's not possible to get an accurate value of exactly how many calories burned.
